Our favourite .NET, Azure and C# podcasts
Podcasts can be good to catch up on the newest things in the industry or just to listen to in the background while doing other work. It can though be tough to find the one that goes into detail at just the level you want or the one whose post schedule fits your weekly plan. Below we have made a big list of some good .NET podcasts that are out there for you to listen to for free. This blog post is a part of our Learn about .NET series.
.NET Rocks
Carl and Richard get together each week and invite a new guest to the podcast, which gives a lot of interesting views and specific arias to talk about.
Hanselminutes
The host, Scott Hanselman, has a new guest each week who is often a specialist in their field. He very schematically puts out a new episode every week. They talk as much about development as about the life of a developer and what experiences that brings.
MS Dev Show
This podcast follows Microsoft development closely. The two hosts Carl and Jason are both developers/engineers of Microsoft and often has lead developers from different Microsoft teams to visit them and share their big insight in both the present and future status of Microsoft development.
Gone Mobile
Greg and Jon generally post once each week, but it varies somewhat. They also get a new guest every episode and talk about different kinds of framework or technology that have to do with mobile development like Xamarin or React Native.
Merge Conflict
They are big fans of the .NET platform and Microsoft development in general. Frank and James put out a new episode each week, and talk in a casual manner, but always have a clear goal for the episode.
No dogma podcast
Bryan Hogan has a new guest every two weeks. He gets a lot of experts in and they could talk about anything from the newest release of .NET Core to entrepreneurial insight into how to scale an organisation.
Microsoft Shows (previously Channel 9)
Microsoft Shows makes videos about .NET development and good tips, but some of their shows like .NET Community Standup can easily be followed without the visual part since it's more of a dialogue between multiple developers working with Microsoft.
Coding Blocks
Another popular .NET podcast is Coding Blocks. The website is a combination of both general and .NET related blog posts, podcast episodes and other resources. The show recently turned 5 years old and has more general programming related topics. There's a lot of excellent episodes to dig into.
The Modern .NET Show
If you are into .NET, ASP.NET Core and friends, The Modern .NET Show is a good place to start. The show was launched as The .NET Core Podcast by Jamie Taylor back in August 2018 but has since been renamed. Jamie have managed to attract some really interesting guests over the years. This is a show I will definitely keep my eyes on.
